"One evening in late September on a solo backpack from The Isle of Skye to Speyside, as dusk approached and showers intermittently broke, I pedalled through the Elgin to Dufftown section. Missing the primary entrance to the goliath William Grant & Sons sight, I passed through a small woodland to reach the secluded second entrance to The Balvenie distillery. From this entrance, you see one of the few remaining active floor maltings in Scotland. The Balvenie Signature was the first bottle of single malt whisky that I was gifted for Christmas, many years ago, and releases from this iconic Speysider are to this day one of my favourite, casual armchair drams."
